KUALA LUMPUR: PAS is expected to announce its candidate for the Tenang state by-election tonight, its vice-president Salahuddin Ayub said.
He said PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang would make the announcement in Labis in an event where Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang would also be in attendance.
"So far, there are two candidates proposed to us," he told Bernama when contacted, adding that one of the candidates proposed is a woman.
Both are from Tenang, he added.
The by-election is called following the death of Datuk Sulaiman Taha of Barisan Nasional on Dec 17.
The nomination day is on Saturday while polling is on Jan 30. - BERNAMA
